Welcome to Theyn
A women owned brand, Theyn is co-founded by four sisters from Kerala. When we set out to build Theyn, our mission was always clear: Represent South India and our Kerala-Tamizh culture through high-quality modern wearable jewellery that evoke pride and storytelling.
Steeped in Kerala -Tamizh culture, Theyn, meaning honey, (തേൻ in Malayalam & தேன் in Tamizh), is our ode to the sweetness of nostalgia through thoughtful, everyday jewellery.
Through Theyn, we create jewellery that feels like home - a bridge between centuries-old South Indian traditions and the lives we lead today. Inspired by motifs that carry memory, meaning, and protection, our pieces are born from the heritage we grew up with, reimagined for the modern person who moves through life.
Crafted in-house, each piece is born from memory, shaped by culture and designed to carry stories that weave the past into your present. Every piece is designed to hold a story: the Palakka leaves that once promised protection, the braided textures of coconut fronds plaited in play, the gleam of manjadi kuru seeds tucked safely away.
We preserve their meaning, but give them new form -elevated, wearable, and deeply personal. For us, jewellery is more than ornament. It is memory made tangible, culture carried forward, and a reminder of who we are - wherever we go.
Our Process
Inspiration
We begin with memories. Our people, places, events, old photos, traditions, movies and vintage jewels.
Sketch
We then marry our creative vision with our mission, user perspectives, and the practicalities of physics.
Sketch to CAD
Once we zero in on designs we LOVE, our partners help bring our vision to life through Computer Aided 3D Designs.
CAD to Mould
A master mould of the design is handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, produced & sampled by us.
Production
Each piece is finally produced from compliant brass - free of nickel, lead, and cadmium, making it hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin.
Plating and Finish
They are then plated in silver, followed by a thick 1 micron layer of 18K gold for a solid, durable finish. An anti-tarnish coating is added for lasting protection.
Final Checks
When the products arrive, we go over every detail one last time. We inspect, we admire, we obsess. Theyn truly is a labour of love.
