Kamala Spinning Reversible Medallion Necklace
Kaashu | Coin Motif
The Kaashu (coin) motif has adorned South Indian jewellery for centuries, its gold coin design symbolising prosperity, abundance, and heritage.
The Kamala Spinning Reversible Medallion Necklace reimagines the traditional Kaashu (coin) motif as a dynamic, double-sided treasure.
On one face, a sculpted wave design pays tribute to Shankhumukham Beach in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala - a coastal landmark beloved for its golden sands, seashell motifs, and tranquil horizon. Flip it over, and you’ll find the Sankha or conch shell which was the emblem on Travancore coins struck between 1938 and 1941 - a nod to history, heritage, and craftsmanship.
Suspended from a sleek gold plated chain, the pendant spins freely, allowing the wearer to shift between designs with a simple touch. This subtle movement makes it as engaging to wear as it is to look at - a conversation piece for those who love jewellery with layers of meaning.
